Weekend Recap - Friends, Memories & Old Age

After I was able to put Friday behind me, my weekend was very good. My quick oil change turned into a tie rod replacement, but anything to be safer on my daily commute. I managed to leave for the other side of the state in a decent amount of time, considering how long I was at the auto shop.

I met my girlfriend TS for some good ole' bowling whooping. We had a good time hanging out and catching up. She had dinner plans at 6p.m. and I had them at 7p.m., seeing that she escorted me to Kohl's at 5:55p.m., she was late for her own b-day dinner! I was the first to mine!

Dinner and conversation with the girls was fun. Although I managed to cause some friction between the two best friends, me and my mouth! I thought that a catfight might pursue, but we're all a bit old for that! Then we went to another hole in the wall bowling alley, where I grew up. I had a blast, but then again, I usually do, regardless (unless FOC is involved!). After two games HB and I switched to left handing bowling as MK decided she was done with bowling. What a hoot! I actually bowled 102 my second game, maybe I should permanently bowl left-handed! We picked up a guy "Joe" and allowed him to bowl with us since apparently he was sitting out the game of beer pong with his buddies. Whatever that was, he apparently thought hanging with the girls left handed bowling was more fun! What a desperately needed girls night out!

Sunday I swung by my old friend CH's house. He's back in town for a month or so. I haven't seen him for a while. I wish that I had more time to catch up, but I had to get to meeting AH whom I haven't seen in 15 years!

Hanging out with AH was a blast. There is nothing like reminiscing with old friends about the past and catching up on the current. I love it! Then TS met us, she had a rough night on Saturday rolling in around 6a.m. The three of us hungout, played some pool, shot some arcade basketball. Mind you, the three of us played on the same junior high basketball team. TS moved away in 7th grade, although AH thought she graduated with us! Weird the things we forget, or fail to remember. They were both very good, aggressive ball players. Me on the otherhand, sat the bench well, was afraid to foul someone that it might hurt their feelings and well was concerned that my ponytail bobbed the wrong way as my teammates! Needless to say, basketball wasn't my game! I can't even say I looked good at it either! Anyway, so shooting hoops, I managed to get 48 at which they both commented the machine must have been wrong as there was no way! LOL Then the next time when I got 43 they decided, maybe I actually could make a basket! Maybe somethings do change when we get older.

Older...yes, I seriously AM old. And, I'm not afraid to admit it. Last time I was at the pool hall I met BL, who is 7 years younger, just a wee pup. He taught me some excellent pool skills, too bad I couldn't apply them well last night! TS and I were asked to play doubles with these two guys at the next table. TS is great at asking people their ages, why I have NO clue, since I clearly wouldn't ask. Because honestly, sometimes I really don't feel old, or even think I look old. Apparently one graduated from the same school as TS, 6 years later. My response, "I'm sooooo OLD. I graduated college three years before he graduated high school!" So then, he asked if it was a four-year college degree. Uh huh. Then, not that I haven't heard this before, but he questions if I am Doogie Howser. Nice...I'm sure he could see the resemblance too!

Into the second game of doubles my pool teacher BL finally arrived. BL and I started playing pool on our own table. Of course, my intentions of leaving the pool hall at 10p.m. to get to the hotel by 11p.m. were clearly shot. I did manage to check into the hotel just after 1a.m. I even asked if they could lie about when I checked in, since last time when it was 2:48a.m. my work didn't want to cover the expense saying I never stayed there! So will see if this time will go better!

All in all it was a wonderful weekend. I love hanging out with friends. I even enjoyed some harmless flirting with BL although again it confirmed exactly how old I am since TS told me after we left that he was so confused by me that he was getting mixed signals. Hmm...is a woman ever to make sense?
