The first All Star game was Monday night. It was a true nail biter, although I have to admit it should have been a super easy win for our team. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The other team rallied back in the bottom of the last inning to score six runs for the win. Ultimate defeat caused by error after error after error. A sad night in All Star baseball.
Tonight was completely different. The team had to win if there is any chance of advancing out of pool play. The game was 0-0 until the second to last inning. We were able to get two on and had a power base hit which scored both on base.
The last at bat for the other team was pretty intense. With one out, we had to change pictures due to pitch count. Then there was a man on second and a man on third. The batter hit the ball to the pitcher that was able to get the runner at third out heading back to the base. Two outs, man on first and second other team down by one. Batter is walked, loading the bases with two outs. The next batter...struck out!
Game over! I seriously don't do very well when I don't keep track of pitches and keep the stat book, but I'm working hard on watching intently and keeping quiet.
Hopefully tomorrow's game goes well!
